Hannah Montana Cake.

This is the birthday cake I made for Courtney's 7th Birthday.

It's a Hannah Montana Cake and I just had a ball making this. I came up with the design myself and based it around Hannah's guitar. Lots of the kids at the party told me that they loved the cake, and it was all gobbled up in no time, so that's always a good sign. Can't wait to make many more cakes as the girls all grow up!

Pettiskirt attempt.

Completed K's Pettiskirt today and she is pretty happy with it. I like the way it looks and I have also learnt A LOT about my ruffler foot in the process! :) I ended up doing one teir as any more would have skimmed the ground. Ended up finding a roll of hot pink tulle at the op shop for 50 cents and that is what I used as the ruffle, made it easier than trying to cut lengths of ruffle out of chiffon. Also gave it an edgier feel. Will be making one for Q soon hopefully.

It was a bit too hard to try and get her to stay still for a better photo of course!

We love Charlie and Lola...

It's becoming K's new favourite, and I gotta say, I think it's a really sweet show. If only all siblings could get along so well.

We made up a Charlie and Lola t-shirt today, the images were from a free Disney clip-art site so okay to use! I also sewed a lace trim along the bottom of the T-shirt just to use up some old lace! K loved helping me with the process of applying the transfer and peeling off the backing paper. I think peeling off the backing is my favourite bit too! She has already put the t-shirt on this morning, I had to convince her to let it cool down first.

Off the page...first try.

The top project was made for me by a lovely lady named Lisa as a gift when Q was born. Then I decided I had to make one for K to match, as they share a bedroom. I tried to match the colours as much as possible, using what paper and embellishments I had on hand. I really enjoyed trying out off the page scrapping, and will now have to finish the fairy castle project I have started for the girls!

I used chipboard letters from Bunnings. Painted them white with Gouache paint. Then used a decoupage glue to apply the paper. I cut around it with a craft blade. Then used an old emery board to file the edges. I used beads, rhinestones, hole punched flowers and string to decorate the letters. Thanks Lisa for the gorgeous gift as well as the inspiration to create!

Her name is Freya.

This is the first dolly I have ever made. She is from a pattern by Melly & Me but I have altered her to my taste. I have chosen not to attach the wings as per the pattern as they wouldn't suit the style I was trying to acheive. K really likes Freya, but she was a bit upset because Freya didn't have arms for a couple of weeks. I was slack and never got around to sewing them on, and K kept finding them in the sewing room and bringing them to me saying "you make dolly arms!", so I finished attaching them this morning. Now I'm going to make a second dolly as the girls are already fighting over her.

I couldn't quite work out how to gather the skirt without it looking like a mess, so I pleated it instead. I also changed the feet as I liked the look of these better.

Lil' Cupcakes.

It was the school holidays and I had my sister Krystal up. We were all bored and decided to make some cupcakes. We made mini cakes so there would be more to decorate! I am not too fussed over the baking part, not my favourite past time, however the decorating was heaps of fun. Then I had to give away the cupcakes to friends and family so I wasn't tempted to eat them all! K and Q most enjoyed licking the bowl and spoon! They also helped with the decorating!

Babushka t-shirt!

Here is a t-shirt I appliqued for K about 3 months ago. I want to do many more t-shirts and eventually even make the t-shirt myself. This will be much easier when I get my over-locker :).

The t-shirt cost me $3 on a clearance rack and the design was drawn up by hand. I then used fabric from my stash, and after several wears and washes, it is holding up really well!
